Membership Terms & Conditions

By joining Swifts Junior Badminton Club (“Swifts”), members and their parents/guardians (“you”) agree to the following terms and conditions of membership.

Your responsibilities

You agree that you have read the code of conduct for parents and carers, and the guidelines for safe badminton – and agree to follow these. You also confirm that you have brought these documents to the attention of the member and both you and the member understand and agree that it is a condition of membership that these be adhered to.

Club representation

The member agrees to represent only Swifts in junior club competitions and club invitation events in leagues that Swifts have representation, regardless of other memberships held.

Safety

The coaches and organisers of Swifts Junior Badminton Club will take every care and consideration for the safety of all children attending the various sessions of the club, but cannot be held responsible for any accidents that may occur or for any loss of property during such sessions. Parents are responsible for the safety and behaviour of their children at matches (home or away) and at all external tournaments.

Health

You agree to keep Swifts up-to-date of any medical condition, injury or anything else that could affect your child’s health and safety. This means providing correct information when requested, and updating the information provided with any changes when they occur.

Information and data usage

You consent to the information you provide to Swifts being processed, stored, and used by Swifts, or disclosed, where appropriate, for the reasonable purposes of running Swifts, including administration, publicity, safety, child protection, league and affiliation registration, player registration, tournament and competition entry, and team management. It will not be disclosed for any other purpose.

Our newsletter may report on members’ activities by full name and may include photographs, if you have provided consent as per our photography consent policy. The full name of the member may occasionally be used on the Swifts website and on Swifts social media.

Newsletters and some information and photographs may be kept indefinitely as they form part of our archive of historical records of our sporting achievements.

Website

The club has an active website, https://swiftsjbc.org.uk, from which you can keep up to date and learn much more information about the club and its policies in such areas as child welfare, equity and multiple club membership. It is strongly recommended by the committee that you regularly visit this website.

Contact

You consent to being contacted by Swifts through the contact details you provide to us, for the reasonable purposes of running Swifts, and agree that Swifts may also contact others whose contact information you provide us on their behalf. By providing others’ contact information, you confirm that they have read and agreed to this policy.

Other policies

You acknowledge that you have read and accept Swifts’ other policies, which are available at https://swiftsjbc.org.uk/policies, excluding Swifts’ Photography Consent Statement, for which Swifts obtains consent separately.

Withdrawal of consent

To withdraw consent for any of the data processing mentioned in this document, or any other Swifts policies excluding the Photography Consent Statement (which contains separate consent withdrawal instructions), please email it@swiftsjbc.org.uk. However please note that large parts of the data processing done by Swifts is essential to the running of the club, and withdrawal of consent may result in membership termination, for which no fee refund is due.
